The former girl band member, 41, whose real name is Melanie Brown, obtained a restraining order against her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte on Monday after detailing extreme abuse she endured throughout their relationship, TMZ reports.
Brown detailed how Belafonte, who she married in 2007 before recently filing for divorce, would punch her in the face with a closed fist, often surrounding her accomplishments like her finale of "Dancing with the Stars" and her appearance on the "X Factor."
On the night of her "DWTS" finale in 2007, Belafonte allegedly put his hands around his wife's throat and slammed her to the floor, which she said wasn't the first time.
She said he would "beat me down to let me know he was in charge," according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
In 2012, she tweeted a photo of a bruise on her face and wrote, "Running in 7 inch louboutin no good!! I'm wearing prauge on my face!!!"
Court documents show that Belafonte forced her to write the tweet claiming the injury was the result of running in heels.
A few years later in 2014, she took to Instagram to share a photo of her with her husband to fire back at rumors he was abusive after she landed in the hospital with a "mysterious illness" and missed an appearance on the "X Factor."
"I'm very good was very polly (sic) but much better now," she wrote. "And for the record my hubby never would lay a hand on me sorry took so long but any response fuels rumors."
In addition to the physical abuse, Brown claims Belafonte would force her to have sex with him and other women and that he is threatening to release sex tapes that she is featured in.
Belafonte also allegedly got the nanny pregnant and wanted them all to live together with the baby.
Ultimately, he demanded she get an abortion, TMZ reports.
There were numerous times the singer tried to leave her husband, but he would threaten her with violence and said he would sabotage her life and career.
The couple has three children together all which are protected under the restraining order Mel B obtained on Monday.
Belafonte is also accused by the ex-Spice Girl of being in possession of a firearm and police recently served him with a search warrant, but did not discover any weapons.
