Just in time for your Holiday Season, Reach Out Recovery has just put together a whole new section under our Recovery Topics tab designed for your health called, “Sugar Facts.” Here you will find a seven-part series, “Balance Your Blood Sugar”, devoted to helping you getting off the sugar roller coaster. Written by our resident “Ask the Expert”, Elizabeth Viszt. She covers everything from water intake to when you should eat and the importance of added oils to how much sleep you need. Her simple ideas will help us all maneuver this holiday season of constant treats and crazy schedules.

You will find a mixture of other helpful articles, but everything is there to help you understand what sugar is and how it effects your health. I even wrote a top ten list of what I do to help myself stop over using my favorite drug, sugar.

I was born into a large Catholic Family of 14 children in Upstate New York. I graduated with my degree in Professional and Technical Writing from University of South Florida. My recovery story began when I witnessed addiction in close  relatives and friends. Unable to change them I began to focus on what I could change, me. Building a support system for myself I now strive daily to keep the focus on me. In my articles I sometimes share stories from my own experience, strength, and hope. It is my hope that others will find courage to see "the elephant in the room" and seek out help for themselves against this cunning,baffling,and powerful disease.
